History
The White Horse was opened as a beerhouse by James
Simmonds, a foreman at the local cloth mill, around 1870. He
had been given the building by his father almost 20 years
earlier, but had extended it considerably by the time he
opened the pub. The White Horse received a full licence in
1949.
Jacqui, Steve, Jase and Chloe took over the running of the
pub in July 2006
